AGM and International Conference
2012 InterPride Annual Conference - Boston, Massachusetts, USA
Wednesday, October 3rd - Sunday, October 7th, 2012
InterPride is the International Association of Pride Organizers and Organizations from around the World. InterPride was created in Boston, MA in 1982, after Pride organizers from Boston, New York, San Francisco, Chicago, San Diego and Los Angeles convened to form the National Association of Lesbian and Gay Pride coordinators.
InterPride exists to promote Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride on an international level, to increase networking and communication among Pride Organizations and to encourage diverse communities to hold and attend Pride events and to act as a source of education. InterPride accomplishes its mission with Regional Conferences and an Annual World Conference (AWC).
InterPride members meet once a year at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of its members. InterPride's AGM is hosted by a member organization to provide workshops on producing LGBTI Pride Events and issues pertinent to our community; along with meetings of the membership, and board and committees network and collaborate on an international scale and take care of the business of the organization. Member organizations can vote on the policies and procedures of the organization and the annual international LGBTI Pride Theme.
Boston Pride hosts the 2012 conference and will bring together global Pride organizations to share experiences and learn from each other. InterPride celebrates its 30th Anniversary this year and we are back where it all began at that first meeting in Boston, 1982.
More information about InterPride's history is available on the InterPride website.
