Region 2

Regional Conference - March 26th & March 27th
Seattle, WA
Hosted by Seattle Out & Proud, Life Long Aids Alliance (meeting space) and First Student Seattle (ground transportation).

It was an astounding year as 10 of the 26 known prides in region 2 committed to the fight for Human Rights while showcasing their communities pride by becoming members of InterPride.
The push is not over as Region 2 also elected a 2nd RD at the Annual AGM held this past October in Long Beach California, Johnathan Jones from Identity Inc., Anchorage Alaska's Pride was elected to fill the vacancy. Work is underway at press time to also fill the Alternate position by a candidate from Seattle Washington's Seattle Out and Proud organization, producers of the Seattle' Gay Pride Parade.

Much work was done by regional delegates to the AGM with a very strong and aggressive agenda set by the attendees. In addition to the bi-monthly newsletter that has been mailed to all know pride groups regardless of current standing monthly Skype calls will also begin in November to better connect the regional membership and overcome the great distances.

"It was a truly amazing experience to see so many organizations represented from our region and I can not wait to see it by this time next year..." stated Frank Leonzal from Out In Tacoma, producer for the Tacoma-Pierce County Washington Pride event. In other news, Out In Tacoma recently merged to become a program of the Tacoma Rainbow Center, the Gay Community Center for the Tacoma-Pierce County.
