There was a 56% increase in anti-trans hate crime recorded last year in England & Wales. (Gov.UK, 2022)

 

88% of young trans people in the UK have had suicidal thoughts. (Just Like Us, 2023)

 

474 Anti-trans bills are sweeping across USA in all but five states. (ALCU)

 

Between 1 October, 2021 and 30 September, 2022 at least 327 trans and gender-diverse people have been killed around the world just for being themselves. (Pink News, 2022)

Why The Global Trans Task Force Is Necessary

 

To bring attention and awareness to the violent attacks, legislative proposals, and general well being of our global transgender community.

 

To provide resources and support to the global transgender community.

 

To examine the atmosphere of the InterPride Board of Directors to ensure that it is a safe space for transgender people to participate.

Mission & Vision

 

The mission and vision of the InterPride Global Trans Task Force (IPGTTF) is to provide education and advocacy on transgender issues that improve the quality of life for the global transgender community and to celebrate those lives.

Defined By Three pillars:

How It Started

 

The Global Trans Task Force was approved by the InterPride Board of Directors during the regular monthly meeting in May 2023. The unanimous vote in favor of this task force reflects the importance to our organization and global LGBTQIA+ community.

InterPride brings together Pride organizations from around the world, therefore contributing to the global coordination of Pride efforts. InterPride has over 375 member organizations in over 70 countries, and its work impacts millions worldwide.

No one should have to suffer from hate for who they are and the #TransPeopleAreLoved campaign is a fantastic opportunity for everyone to show their solidarity with the Trans community.
